Zermatt is a very special, car-free place. Since 1947, only electric cars without a combustion engine are allowed to operate in the village. We will arrange a transfer by Mercedes Viano or limousine from the Airport to Täsch – the small village a few kilometers from Zermatt (you can also go from the Airport to Täsch by train). From Täsch you will take one of the shuttle trains and after 12 minutes you will be in Zermatt.
Zermatt lies on the Italian border of the canton of Valais in the west of Switzerland. Almost one-third of the 4,000-metre mountains in the Alps are grouped around this world-famous resort.
The hotels and restaurants in Zermatt are world-class, and the ski area is not only the highest in the Alps – it is also one of the best-developed and most convenient in the world, ensuring thrilling sporting experiences on the steepest slopes in the world – and that 365 days a year.
The climate is of excellent quality: with 300 sunny days a year, there is less rainfall than anywhere else in Switzerland. The air in Zermatt is clear, dry, and clean because cars are not allowed to operate in the village.
The city lies at the foot of the Matterhorn (4,478 meters high), the most famous peak in the Alps and the most photographed mountain in the world. Visitors can take the mountain cable car from Zermatt to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (at 3883 meters above sea level) and explore this magnificent area.
From the top, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Italian, French, and Swiss alpine giants including Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps. Beneath you lies the largest summer ski area in Europe and, not far away, a cool Gravity Park for snowboarders and freeskiers, open 300 days a year. You can also visit the highest glacier palace in the world.
